Poker Run, Blues Fest benefit A Special Wish Foundation

MANSFIELD -- On Saturday, two separate
events will merge to help make the wishes
of children with life-threatening illnesses
come true. The Special Wish Poker Run and
the Mid Ohio Summer Rock N Blues Fest will
kick off at different locations then meet up
to create a magical fundraiser for A Special
Wish Foundation.

The Poker Run will start at 11 a.m. at
Hales Harley-Davidson and end at the
Rock N Blues Fest at the Leiderkranz on
Silver Lane. Registration will begin at 10 a.
m. Entry fees are $15 per bike and $10
per rider, which includes admission to the
blues fest.

The run will travel a little more than 100
miles, with five stops in Knox, Ashland and
Richland counties. Food will be served at
the second-to-last stop at Club 42 in
Ashland.

Promoter and local musician Frank Medley
has held fundraising events for A Special
Wish Foundation for 20 years. A full day of
live bands, 10 in all, will begin at noon and
continue until 11 p.m. Food and beverages
will be available in a family-friendly setting.
Admission is $10 per person (age 13 and
older) for the all-day event.

Band line-up is Then & Now at 1, Drive By
Tuesday at 2, Get A Way Band at 3, TNT at
4, Castle Band at 6, Voodoo Garden at 6,
Trust at 7, Fat Daddy's Blues Band at 9
and Renegade at 10 p.m. A pie-in-the-
face auction is set for 8 p.m.
